History
The Starship Horizon, though not the flag ship of our fleet has a very long and unique history.
Commissioned: Star date 17121.0
Role: Cadet Training Vessel
Outfit: 3, Mark 2 Phaser Banks - 1 forward photon torpedo bank – Type 2 Shields
Top Speed: Warp 6
Crew Compliment: 200 Crew, 8 Officers
Upon commission into the fleet, Horizon was assigned the role of a ‘Cadet Training Ship’ it’s mission was to give Cadets in their last year of the Academy the chance to serve on bored and earn a ‘field promotion’ this would give them firsthand experience of serving on a fully serviceable ship, undergo missions and gain a good report, making them more eligible for further promotion (Due to experience) A ‘Fast-track’ to their career.
Upon her first mission the Horizon was assigned to make scans of a nebula in a safe, federation controlled area. However, the mission turned out quite unexpected as a worm hole opened up and pulled the horizon in. Due to her lack of outfitting she took heavy damage and most senior crew were killed or badly wounded. Field promotions and temporary statuses were enforced through the remaining crew, including cadets who had to go beyond the line of duty to uphold and defend the ship!
Next to total destruction, the ship was saved by a ship known as ‘Avalon’ The ship however didn’t show on records and was under a different banner. The horizon was pulled into an alternate universe with no clear way out.
Horizon was pulled by the Avalon as they helped with repairs, though Horizon would have to help Avalon with her mission in Orion space. Here the Horizon and Avalon were split up and Horizon was yet again put under heavy fire, however, the ship was pulled into a large station, designed to refit ships into ‘battle status’ Refitting the ship entirely.

Outfit: 7, Mark 3: Phaser Banks – 2 Photon Torpedo Launchers (1 Front, 1 Aft), 1 Quantum Torpedo Launcher (Front) – Type 3 Shields – Enforced Hull.

Crew Compliment: 300 Crew, 8 Officers
Horizon, now refitted was fit to get out of the danger zone.
Throughout her short time here the ship encountered many dangers, including ‘kidnapped’ crew, rival ships, reversed physics...
Returning Home

After finally returning to Starfleet the crew were put on a long shore leave. The ship in the meantime, studied for technology, information and explanations.
Engineers finally got to making the already upgraded ship even finer, becoming the first ‘Battle Ship’ of the fleet and in an ‘Exploration’ role.
